Privacy Policy
The Fall River Historical Society is committed to providing an enjoyable experience while visiting our Web site. Part of achieving this goal involves gathering information that helps to ensure our site meets your needs.

The FRHS does not rent, sell, or exchange information submitted via this Web site, and the use of such information is restricted to the FRHS for marketing purposes. The Society respects your privacy, and this privacy statement provides important information about how we gather and protect the personal information of our Web site visitors. Use of our Web site constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions of this privacy policy.

About the Information We Collect
The Fall River Historical Society gathers two types of information through its Web site. The first is routine statistical information gathered as visitors browse through our site, and the second is personal information voluntarily supplied by visitors.

When you visit our site, we do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily choose to provide us with the information. However, some services on the site require that you furnish personal information. Examples include purchasing items from our museum store, answering surveys, registering to receive electronic newsletters, or becoming a member of the Society.

Credit card information is used only for your intended purchase (i.e., museum shop purchases, membership dues, and contributions). Contact information is used to respond to your inquiries and to send products and services requested from our Web site. You also may receive periodic mailings from us with information on new products and services, updates to our Web site, or upcoming events.

Use of Cookies
The Society uses cookies to provide more personalized service and to make our site easier for you to use. A cookie enables a Web site to temporarily keep information on your computer as you navigate from page to page on our site, and to retrieve information on a return visit.

Online Registration
When you purchase items with our online museum shop, you are asked to furnish your name, postal address, telephone number, and email address. Online sales are conducted via PayPal and they collect your credit card information. The Society is not a party to that information, however, we do receive your shipping and order information.

Children and Privacy
The Fall River Historical Society will not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 without first gaining consent from a parent or guardian. If your child sends us an e-mail with a question or request for information (such as information on Fall River history for a school project), we will respond using his or her e-mail, but we will not retain it for future communications. Children should always ask their parents or guardians for permission before providing personal information to anyone online. We urge parents and guardians to participate in their children’s online activities.

The FRHS Web site provides links to non-FRHS Web sites, and other Web sites may provide links to the FRHS Web site. When you link to a third-party Web site, you leave our Web site and no longer will be subject to our privacy policy. The FRHS is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of non-FRHS Web sites, and such links are not intended to be an endorsement of the non-FRHS Web site or its content.
